Combat the winter blues, 5 tips from our founder to get you feeling energised and boots your mood!
JASMINE’S 5 TOP TIPS TO BEAT THE BLUES
1. Get outside!! Whether it’s a brisk walk, a coffee on a bench with a friend or…taking your dog to a training class at lunch (the latter is our new Monday lunch hobby which involves being outside in the VERY fresh air for 1 hour…)
2. Plan a pamper evening - light the candles, make a big mug of your favourite hot drink and fill up the bubbliest of baths, apply a face mask and relax!
3. Put on some music and DANCE! Making a cup of tea? Dance whilst the kettle is boiling.. writing and email? Do a little jig in your seat! Cooking the dinner? Dance as you add ingredients! You’ll be amazed at how uplifting it is!
4. Buy a magazine - this is something that I used to do ALL the time and haven’t really for years, on Sunday I picked up the latest copy of Women’s Health and have been loving sporadically reading each article, it reminded me of how lovely it is to look at real pages and just sit without distraction, plus it has some really great tips on self care!
5. Make something nutritious for at least ONE of your meal times today! This morning I decided to make us smashed avocado and smoked salmon on sourdough, topped with honey, fresh chilli, salt, pepper and mixed seeds - usually Monday’s are hectic as I work for my other halves business so have admin to catch up on whilst juggling all of Alterme Homes to do’s, so I ‘don’t have time’ and skip breakfast resulting in me having about 3 lattes, but taking 15 minutes to make and enjoy this has made me feel so much better and more energised!
I hope these give you some ideas on combatting any winter blues or just help make you feel a little more energised for the week ahead!
